The hardest part 3

"V Day" has arrived in North America, and countless hipsters are off and running to their local music emporiums to pick up their copy of Viva La Vida or Death And All His Friends today, as will I shortly after I get off work. I've devoted quite a bit to Coldplay the last month, but I think that's a testament to the strength of the new material; I've been reading blog after blog, and people are nothing if not passionate about this album, whether it's a passionate love or passionate disgust.

These guys are definitely not sitting in the middle of the road, as some might have you believe. If they can inspire this much debate, discussion, and analysis, they must be doing something right. After all, isn't generating thought, critique, and engaging in the sharing of ideas the point of being an artist? Don't all artists want their work to spark something in others that give them pause, and effect them on some emotional level, or inspire others to create and shape their own vision?

Isn't life beautiful when something good gets twisted into something else that's just as good? Don't you wanna dance?
