The hardest part

I am not a musical elitist. I give equally opportunity to any artist to impress me, make me swoon, and fall at their feet in adoration. Nor do I ever feel any shame in admitting my fondness for something that others may make derision to. So then why is it that I've been debating about whether or not I should mention the fact that I'm absolutely smitten with pretty much everything I've heard off of the new Coldplay album?

Is it possibly because of a fear that my blogging brothers and sisters would chastise me for giving face time to one of the world's biggest names in music over an artist whose just beginning to emerge? Is it because if I dared tried to post something from Viva La Vida Or Death and All His Friends I'd have the Web Sheriff up my ass so fast I wouldn't know what hit me? I think it's neither of these things... I think what it is, is that I know that in a few weeks when this album hits the shelves and becomes available to the masses, it will soon become impossible to escape it, and that in turn will diminish some of it's lustre and it's impression on me. Isn't that sad? That we've become such voracious consumers that even music becomes a consumable that eventually needs a best before date.
