Clear Tigers is the work of Nathan Akin, an Arkansas native now operating out of Brooklyn, NY. Over the course of a few months, Nathan wrote and recorded Brutal, Clear Tigers' debut album single-handily. Keep that in mind when you listen to "Spookhouse," one of my favourite tracks on the album. As a chorus of Nathans accompany his own vocal performance, and the elegantly wasted orchestration clambers and crescendos all around him, imagine what it must have been like to be in the studio all alone and bringing this to life. He's my favourite new mad genius of 2007.
