Quick, Before It Melts.

A.A. Bondy is Scott Bondy, one of the founding members of Alabama's Verbena. With Dave Grohl as a patron and producer, Verbena spent the later half of the 90s recording and touring before calling it quits in 2003.


Bondy has recently reentered musical life with a solo release--American Hearts--which was recorded quickly in a barn in upstate New York this past January. You can almost feel the winter draft creeping in between his beautiful, haunting songs. They are warmed by the loving touch of a great songwriter, who breathes life into laments with dark titles like "How Will You Meet Your End" and "Killed Myself When I Was Young". Ryan Adams would sell his American kidney for an album full of songs as perfectly formed as those on American Hearts.
