Tegan and Sara's newest album, The Con is out next week, and it's anything but. The Sisters Quin (Tegan Rain Quin and Sara Kiewrsten Quin according to Wikipedia--and their driver's licenses I'm guessing) recorded their fifth album with the nimble assistance of Death Cab For Cutie's Chris Walla, and features contributions and appearances by Death Cab's Jason McGerr, and Matt Sharp of The Rentals.
The Con is a little bit darker, and little more introspective than their other albums, which may be because the sisters wrote the album while taking a break from each other after their extensive last tour. However, lead single, "Back In Your Head" is still a nice slice of cutey-lite pop in the vein of previous efforts. Sara recently contributed some back vocals for recent QBiM interviewee Vivek Shraya's track "Your Name."
