Any band who name themselves after the slaughtered Kansas family forever immortalized by Truman Capote in In Cold Blood was bound to raise my eyebrows and my suspicions. Visceral has always been one of my favourite adjectives, but I rarely get to use it in such an appropriate way as when describing The Clutters. Far from my musical permutation of choice, I'm actually quite liking this band's hard-edged, yet pop-like sensibilities. The Clutters "9999 (Ways To Hate Us)"

Frequent readers aren't going to be too surprised by this next choice, given that Los Campesinos! are Toronto-based Arts & Crafts latest signing. The diverse and international acts that A&C are adding to their roster always impress me, even if I don't particularly care for them (*ahem*Most*Serene*Republic*ahem*). I've had to warm to this merry Welsh band, I'll admit, but very glad I have. This kind of fun is infectious, and I'm glad I've finally gotten around to giving them a proper listen.Los Campesinos! I'm once again indebted to Connor over at I Guess I'm Floating for another wonderful find: Throw Me The Statue. The name alone is enough to make you take notice, but the music is the real gem here--head over to IGF for all the details, and thank Connor for being so astutely keen in finding this great music and bringing it to light. Then come back over here, and read my blog.Throw Me The Statue "About To Walk"

I feel like I may have missed the boat on White Rabbits, but there's only so much music a man can listen to in 24 hours, and only so much music to post. I know the band has been getting attention from other blogs, and I know it's all positive, so on a whim I downloaded the album from eMusic (in order to use my monthly allowance). I haven't done my research on them, just yet, and I couldn't even tell you anything about them, other than listening to this track (and the album, Fort Nightly from whence it came) should be required of any self-respecting fan of music.White Rabbits "The Plot"
